Another request--or rather a request being revived

Sunday, September 21, 2014

About 2 weeks ago I broke a tooth. It got infected. I took antibiotics and it seemed to get better, but stopped taking the antibiotic when I developed hives. Now the infection is much worse. My jaw line, under my chin, and down my throat are swollen and painful.

Not only do I not have any money or insurance, but I have a deathly fear of dentists. (I know fear is not of God, and yet, there it is.)

I'm taking ibuprofen for the pain and swelling. Benedryl at night. Olive leaf capsules twice a day. Rinsing my mouth with warm salt water at night.

I went to the "healing prayer room" at church yesterday and they prayed for the infection and for the tendonitis in my Achilles tendon. (Then someone handed me a roll of bills!) Today my Achilles tendon feels fine! Praise God! But my face looks and feels awful and I have to go to work today.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you all for your concern...I spent $200 going to a clinic today and getting another antibiotic. Hoping this one will work.

The dentist can give you something for pain. Go asap because doctors are now saying tooth infections can cause heart problems.

Although I also abhor going to the doctor's or dentist or any other office that will stick me with needles that can be painful... I would be getting myself to a physician and follow their directions.. IMHO... the longer you wait the more energy you put into worrying while suffering with the pain.

Like HMBROWN said, I really think you need to go to the dentist, you really don't want that infection spreading any further. I would ask if you could have some sedation for the procedure, and if you do that, make sure you have someone else that can drive you.

Prayers that you feel better soon!

So sorry to hear about your tooth and your Achilles tendon. I REALLY feel your pain. I have chronic tendonitis in my right Achilles tendon. And I have crappy teeth. I have had that infection and it really hurts. Sadly, the only thing that will fix it is a visit to the dentist. I hate them too. They will freeze your whole mouth first so that you don't feel anything. Just freezing it will feel great - no pain!

I hope that you get some relief soon.
