song that reminds me not to make goals that are too high for myself

Monday, September 29, 2014

I was listening to some faith no more this morning to wake up to. Then the song epic came on, one of my favorite songs by them. This song reminds me not to make unattainable goals for myself when i hear the words from the song

Can you feel it, see it, hear it today?
If you can't, then it doesn't matter anyway
You will never understand it cuz it happens too fast
And it feels so good, it's like walking on glass
It's so cool, it's so hip, it's alright
It's so groovy, it's outta sight
You can touch it, smell it, taste it so sweet
But it makes no difference cuz it knocks you off your feet
You want it all but you can't have it
It's cryin', bleedin', lying on the floor
So you lay down on it and you do it some more
You've got to share it, so you dare it
Then you bare it and you tear it
You want it all but you can't have it
It's in your face but you can't grab it
It's alive, afraid, a lie, a sin
It's magic, it's tragic, it's a loss, it's a win
It's dark, it's moist, it's a bitter pain
It's sad it happened and it's a shame
You want it all but you can't have it
It's in your face but you can't grab it
What is it?
It's it
What is it?...

When i hear the song it reminds me of when people make their goals set way too high for themselves and cant reach their ultimate goal.

Remember, set small goals for yourself first. Ones you know you can reach, then slowly make harder goals that help you reach to what it is that you wanted, or somewhere as close as you possibly can. If you set it too high too quickly, you set yourself up for failure, which is what the song is pretty much talking about, something you can see but just cant attaine.

Start small, work yourself up slowly, and keep healthy while doing it.

Thank you faith no more for that lesson in life
