A little NSV for me

Today I really feel old. I had two 70+ birthday parties to go to this weekend and for some reason that has really gotten to me. I have a goal to see my my three grandchildren (ages 6 1/2, 3 and 16 months) thru college. I don't just want to be there at their graduations. I want to be a fit, thin and with it grandma also.
Besides my healthy diet efforts and my increased fitness I'm trying to embrace, I know I need to keep working to make sure my mind stays sharp. To that end, I'm struggling thru bridge lessons and looking for any mental challenge I can keep up with. I play Spark Trivia everyday and fight the urge to goggle the answers I don't know. I've also become a real Mathdoku addict too.

Today I went to the Merriam Webster webpage to look up a word I didn't know from the book I'm reading

. I saw that they had a vocabulary quiz so I decided to give it a try. It's a timed quiz

that included words like Temerity, Subterfuge, contiguous and sacrosanct. They give you 10 words with 4-5 multiple choice answers. The words get harder if you get an answer right. My final score was 3260. The average score was 2490. A perfect score is 4200. I'm pretty proud of getting only one wrong and it was just carelessness since I really know what the words means. I call that a pretty good NSV
