Day 3- Healthcare
So, I'll start by saying I'm really sorry to those that opposed the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) and I'm especially sorry to those that it screwed over instead of helped. Sincerely, I mean that.
However, for someone like me, this act was a tremendous benefit and great relief. I'd been without healthcare for years and I do have some health issues that need to be monitored. That came out of my pocket quite a bit. Now, I don't have to worry about being on my own with this tennis-ball sized ovarian cyst, or taking it extra super easy with physical activity because I don't have an asthma inhaler, or having to pay $1300 for 3 stitches in my thumb as the result of an unfortunate toothbrush accident. I'm thankful to have peace of mind and someone to care for me medically.
In fact, I need a flu shot and to get to my doctor ASAP about this extraordinarily painful cyst. Called this morning to make an appointment... I'll be seeing my doc Wednesday morning. BOOM! (And I didn't even have to change primary care physicians!) SNAP!
Oh, and for those keeping track- my appointment with my psychologist was canceled last week, so it's been rescheduled for this week. Although, if I end up dropping my chemistry class, I won't be able to see her and will need to find an alternative.
Now with razorblades. (Or at least that's how it feels.)
