I started P90X on September 20th; I have made it through 4 weeks, and am now in week 5 in Phase 2. The only problem is this is really between 6-7 weeks, and Monday will be 7 weeks.
When I did P90X before, I was up north in Michigan, and only played golf maybe once a week, so I was able to follow the program exactly in the prescribed order and doing the 7 days in a row, with of course, day 7 being rest or stretch.
Here's my problem: Now that I'm living in Florida, I play more golf. I play on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturdays, and (maybe even more when all the snowbirds get back). That leaves me with Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday to do the workouts. Ok, that's fine and good, and I do them. With that, there are some weeks, that I'm not getting any upper body, and if so, it's maybe one day a week. The result is, I've noticed my triceps are flapping......they haven't done that in forever!!!
Sooooo, I 'm calling an audible, and making a change back to Jari Love. That way I can get 3 days a week of a great all over body workout with weights, mixed in with cardio intervals in a great circuit training dvd. Then I'll have an extra day that I can devote to the elliptical machine, or maybe one of the P90X Plyo or Kenpo X disks for cardio.
So I've had 7 weeks break from this, so this will be a change, and I'll give this a go, and see how it works out. As long as I get 3 days of deliberate exercise, plus the golf that I do, I think I will be fine. I just need to make sure I am working my arms and my legs those 3 days.
So, today, I'm going to go up and do the elliptical machine!
