Home - Which One is It?

Monday, November 10, 2014

For a daily bonus we are supposed to count our blessings and do a blog using a letter in a word you choose. For those who have lived in other cities or states what place to you call home? I'm more inclined to count Home as the place where I grew up. It's probably the place so far that I've spent most of my time and I have family there. Home is where the heart is. We don't have kids but we have our dogs and cats. Two came with us from the east coast and we also have adopted/rescued - 4 cats and 3 dogs. This is their home for sure. Then we also lived on the east coast This was actually less time than my hometown or here where DH and our animal kids live. It's where my DHs parents and family lived though. Once DH retires we will be looking for another place though. There's just too much cold, snow and ice during the LONG winter. Finding a place will be another long project! The best I could do would be home is where I am with DH and our animals, but where I grew up would always be my home also. My in-laws are both gone now and they retired in another area and lived there for several years. I'll still think of when we were all together as one of my homes.

Now I really didn't answer the question with one answer!

Home is anywhere it feels home... to me it is. I was born raised in Slovakia, spent 36 y in Germany and now I’ve been living for 8 y in FL. Some of us have no family anymore. The home gets another perspective, I guess. I liked your Blog, stay safe!

Home is complicated for me. I grew up in metro Detroit. I spent 12 years in Alabama and loved it. My oldest daughter is still there. My youngest daughter is in Nova Scotia. The rest of the family is still in Michigan. Mom's older - I don't know how long we will have her. I have problems with my oldest sister and would rather not be around her. I want to go back to Alabama and have my youngest move there, too. Right now, my heart is with my children.

I too believe home is where the heart is. I was born and raised in Virginia, but I've been in Illinois for the last 30 years. This is where I call home. emoticon

At this point in my life, Home is here, where I raised my kids, rather than where I was raised. The kids and grandkids are all nearby, though, a blessing I thank God for every day.

emoticon We moved every 2 Years while I was growing up, so no place really had "Roots" My grandparents lived in the same house all those years and we visited often. Their place in Oklahoma always seemed like "Home"
