Update since October
Tuesday, December 16, 2014
Hello everyone. It has been a while since I have been on Spark so let me update you on a few things that went down since October.
My mum came to visit for a few weeks and I took some time off to spend with her. It was so great to see her again. I took her on 2 bike rides with me while I ran, and I managed to fit in a hike as well. It was terribly cold so we tried to stay indoors as much as possible. In the meantime it was mother-daughter time and spending as much time with her as possible.
During the holidays we were busy visiting family all over Kansas and we had some people over at our house as well. It was nice to see them all.
My husband graduated last weekend from mechanical engineering and he got a job in Virginia Beach!
We are both very excited but as you can imagine, we are extremely busy with the move. In a few short weeks, we had to find a property manager for our house, and start packing for the move. We are also busy trying to find a house in VB, and negotiate with movers. There are hundreds of things to do, and we are moving in three weeks.
Stress is building up as you can imagine, but I am trying to keep sane.
Work has been busy as well. I am always busier at the end of the semester and with handing things over, it piled on more things to do. I am going to miss my co-workers and especially the students, but I am thrilled that we are going to a new place and start a new life.
Due to all this, it is unfortunate of me to say that my workouts have suffered due to all the changes in my life, and my eating has been bad. I do try to be careful as much as I can, but it seems that lately it is a grab-and-go kind of situation. I need to find a way to handle my busy schedule better to fit in some workouts, but at the same time still get my house packed and moved, and ready for the property manager.
I hope that everyone has been doing great. I am sorry for missing out on a lot of you. It always gave me much pleasure to interact with all of you and I need my SP buddies more and more!
If I don’t come in as much as I used to, please know that you are always in my thoughts and I wish all of you Happy Holidays.
