January 1, 2015 - 90 Day Challenge

Here it is the 1st day of 2015. I've come a long way since I joined Spark People in 2006, but not far enough. I found out I was a diabetic in 2006 and shortly afterwards I found Spark People. I have received so much support from my Spark friends. I've lost 93 lbs so far, but still have a lot more to go. I spent 2014 working hard on improving my health. I lost weight, but didn't quite make it to my goal of being under 300 lbs. I gained 1 lb during the holidays. For this month, I'm going to increase my steps from 3,000+ to 4,000+ each day. I need to be more consistent with this. I'm also working on eating more fruits and veggies and staying away from fast food. I did so well with it for a long time. Unfortunately, when I moved to California, I went back to fast food at least once a week. I don't need the fast food. I'm going back to eating cleaner and eating at home.
I decided to do a 90 day challenge with my Spark friend, Pixie. On the first of each month, we are going to post pictures of ourselves. Pixie is staying off the scale, but I will be weighing myself once a week. By the end of the challenge, I want to be under 300 lbs. I had my son take pictures of me this morning. He did front, sides, and back pictures of me. Please don't mind my appearance. My hair was still wet from my shower and I don't have my eye make-up on. He was anxious go to climb San Miquel Mountain here in Chula Vista, CA where we live. One day I hope to be able to go with him. Until then, I will continue building up my stamina.
