Spark Page Memory Lane

I'm checking out my Spark Page and notice all of the accomplishments and all of the pictures are old. As much as I enjoy seeing them, they are no longer accurate and I need to update my profile picture. My current picture is of me after completing a half marathon. Right now, I'm barely completing a half mile without stopping. I need a "Before" picture now so that I can better realize that I'm not where I want to be. I can get back there but that will take time, hard work, and patience. So tonight I need to take a current picture of myself and make it my profile so that I can see that everyday and do something about it.

I'm 2 weeks in on doing something about it. I'm calling it a soft introduction as I'm figuring out meal plans and exercises to make it more of a routine. I'm making better food choices but am also having a cheat day each week due to some events in January that I'm choosing to partake in less than healthy foods/drinks (annual company party being one of them). I'm okay with that because I know I'm not allowing this to be the norm and my wife and I will occasionally have those to keep our sanity.

Positives for the first two weeks are: 1) No fast food, 2) No sodas. Although these are not things I do on a regular basis, they are easy options (and bad choices) that I know won't get me where I want to be.

Hopefully everyone is having a Happy New Year and working on a Happy New You.

    Hey celebrate those things that you are doing right. No one is perfect. We can't possibly 24/7 perfect choices. But we can keep at it and create a mindset that helps us choose good choices...and that is PRETTY awesome. You are doing that. So keep being emoticon . :) Be proud of EVERY choice you make, each continues to carve out your path. Don't worry about the falls so much, rather focus on your eyes on the goal. What do you really want in life? Who do you reallyl want to be? Word of advice I'm also telling myself: Just be the wonderful you, you are, with no restraints. That is something no one else can do, but you! Let go of yesterdays and live in today. And don't undermine your efforts and accomplishments--no matter how small they look to you, they matter, they count! I see you being honest here. Thats GOOD. that takes guts, courage, and also shows willing spirit. You can do this! You are already making a new path towards a healthier you. :) emoticon And thus ends my little sermonette!
