Saturday Scatterings

We have a number of things on our to-do list to get the house ready to put on the market. Yesterday we made a tentative schedule of what was going to be done when. So much for that. Painting our guest room upstairs was supposed to happen the first weekend of February, but we decided to do it today. We went out after breakfast to pick up the paint, and while I did my cardio workout, Steve went crazy painting the walls.
Our usual technique is Steve does the big surfaces with the roller, and I come in behind and do the cutting-in along the ceiling and doors. He saved us some time by taping off some of the areas. We should have it done by lunchtime, and then we can shower and go out for a nice meal to celebrate.
Yesterday while we were walking the dogs, we ran into our housepainter's son Adam. Over the past 3 years, Adam has lost 155 pounds. He looks amazing. He says that he's mostly done, and wavers between 213 and 217. He's been power lifting, so he's getting really muscular and strong (he deadlifted 340 pounds the other day, which is almost how much he weight before he started). He's been such an inspiration to me.
Seeing Adam reminded me of my new SparkFriend PersistentTim, who has already lost over 230 pounds (that's more than one of me!!!). I love his weekly video blogs, and I'm amazed at his tenacity and determination. (If you aren't following his journey, I encourage you to check him out!) I love all my SP friends, and get inspiration from all of you!!!
We watched the movie "Divergent" last night, and I guess its themes got into my head. I had a restless night of sleep, with dreams that would resume where they left off if I woke up in the middle of them. But after my workout this morning, I am feeling better and ready to face the day.
Happy Saturday, everyone! Keep pushing and remember - YOU CAN DO IT!
