I am here doing three things:
- posting to my blog each day to help keep me focused and motivated
- checking some threads on the message boards for diet/nutrition info
- reading other blogs for inspiration

Since my diet is so restrictive, there's no need to actively track what I eat, and all I'm tracking is my weight and blood pressure. Which is all to say that I'm not using all the bells and whistles on this site. So it took me two days to notice that APRILRUSSELL3 had gifted me a SparkGoodie of workout shoes.

At first I didn't know what the Goodies were - I only have one other, that the site gave when I signed up. But then I realized that I am earning SparkPoints slowly for what I do here, and that April was kind enough to use some of her hard-earned SparkPoints to give me a virtual treat. And of course my brain knows these aren't real shoes that I can do anything with. But my heart is touched that a stranger out there is kind enough to encourage fellow Spark travelers to get off our butts and do something healthy and good for our bodies.

So thank you very much, April. I am going to get my butt off the sofa now, put on some workout clothes and my virtual as well as real workout shoes, and drag my lazy self downstairs to the treadmill. And while I am trudging on the beast, I will think about how your non-lazy butt is training for a marathon. I've got to say, people like you are awesome, and this site rocks.
