Day 64 - Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep

I practice gratitude every day. Ever since my accident (see my first blog posts for details), I've been grateful for life, health, love, and security, and I spend a few moments each day giving thanks for still being here and for having someone to share my life with.

Sundays I try to practice some extra gratitude exercises, since it's the day we typically consider the one where we count our blessings. I'd probably do more of those gratitude workouts if only they counted toward my SP fitness minutes! But I digress...

Today was no different. Today in our church praise choir, we sang a couple songs about being thankful, and my heart felt so full. I was reminded of the wonderful Irving Berlin song from the movie "White Christmas" that Bing Crosby sings to Rosemary Clooney:

So if you're worried and you can't sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you'll fall asleep counting your blessings

So if you are feeling down because you didn't lose a certain amount of weight last week, or if you're stressed at work, or if you exceeded your calories for a day, just remember to count your blessings.

It always works for me.
