The girls and I have had a bunch of talks about finding your way in life, and how to overcome people's ignorance when it comes to environment, destruction of nature, war, being nasty to one another and being intolerant towards one anothers opinions. I think it is pretty hard not to despair in a world like this, especially when you are a young person, and don't really know what lies ahead of you in life. I have found it is much more important to find inner peace than to find it elsewhere, especially trying to find it through another person (like a husband, a best friend, a child etc.). I think here lies the hope for this world.... people like my children, who have gotten a pretty strong foundation in our family, and are now beginning to figure out how to help the world become a better place. One of the girls wants to just make a difference in nature and the animal world, because she does not think that within her lifetime humankind will become smart enough to stop wars and slaughtering each other. The other daughter wants to make a difference wherever she lands in educating people about what they can do to make the world a better place. I think they are terrific girls, I just hope they don't take this all so serious that they become obsessed with it.
