Day 66 - Tuesday Triumphs
Wednesday, February 04, 2015
Not much to write today. I'm still getting comments on my Day 64 post from Sunday. Being voted Featured Blog Post isn't just an honor and privilege - it's an experience that is completely ethereal. I imagine that is what it feels like to be the football player that scores the winning touchdown and then total strangers come up and pat him (or her, it could be a her) on the back and say "Good job!" I'm just not used to that kind of adulation. It feels good, but weird. To all of you who have commented, I say Thank You, from the bottom of my heart. I hope you know that your words have touched me as much as you say mine have touched you.
We had praise choir rehearsal this evening, and then a little post holiday party (originally scheduled for early January, it was supposed to have an Epiphany theme). Our director asked if anyone had any epiphanies to share. I should have talked about my experiences on SP, and especially this week, but my mind was already in shut-down mode. Ah, maybe next time.
Tomorrow morning I pick up my parents to take them to the airport. They are flying to Florida to see family, and then they are taking a 5-day cruise through the western Caribbean. It was nearly a year ago that we all came back from a week in Costa Rica, and my mom fell on the jetway getting off the plane when we landed back in Sacramento. I told them then that I didn't think they should travel anymore, and especially not travel alone. Well, Dad insisted that they could handle this trip, as well as the one they're planning for this summer to coincide with the Celebration of Life service for Dad's brother (my uncle) Don, who passed away last month. I'm trying to stay positive, but this is when I worry.
Tuesday is the day I celebrate a triumph, whether large or small, something that I did today that made me feel really good. Today's triumph was the abdominal workout that is part of the Power90 cardio session. It's 200 ab exercises (10 exercises of 20 reps each). Today was the first day that I got through the entire segment without stopping. My form still isn't perfect, but I didn't have to rest at all (usually in the bicycles, which are #9 out of the 10). I was pretty pleased about that!
What did you accomplish today that made you feel triumphant? Be sure to celebrate that and feel good about it. It really will help you get that much closer to your next goal.
