Low carb jerky = leather nuggets

In my quest for a low carb, low fat, low cal, high protein snack, I ordered several meat jerkies from Amazon. One was a traditional beef jerky which came in small flat pieces, but the lack of sweetness and fat meant that it tastes like like chewy salty pieces of tough cardboard. The second was slim-jim shaped and made of beef and ostrich. It is spicy with a satisfying texture except a vile vinegary aftertaste which renders it nearly inedible. I can only stand a couple of small bites at a time, so one serving lasts several days. And the third is actually tolerable - nuggets of turkey jerky which almost taste like food. Unfortunately they are nugget shape so feel like a pet treat.
All in all, I think these jerkies solved my snack problem. They give me something that fits my diet that keeps hunger at bay; their chewiness keeps my mouth busy for a while with each bite; their lack of pleasant flavor results in my easily stopping about consuming only a portion of a serving. My three packages are going to last a couple of months at this rate!
