2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, 'My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
We just cannot go on anymore; we just do not have the strength. That's when we need to turn to God. In our weakness He brings us strength. You will be amazed at what great endurance the Lord gives to those who stretch out their arms to Him.
Do you ever feel like your not moving forward. That your stuck in a rut. It's moments like this when we all too often feel like throwing in the towel. Well giving up is just not in my vocabulary. And it shouldn't be in yours either.
When you feel like you have slipped up and the days caloric limit is all done for, don't just throw in the towel. Forgive yourself and start right then there getting back to counting those calories and tracking them. I mean all of them.
Then step back and take a look at what triggered you to go over board in the first place. For me a lot of time it is my emotions. I hide my feelings very well from my spouse, When he senses that I am in a bad mood or just plain distant, he will go out and buy cookies. And when I say he buys cookies, or any other junk food, He doesn't just buy one bag, he buys 2 or more. Wouldn't be so bad if he would help eat it, But he never does and it is always my favorites that he buys..
This is when we need our support system the most. Not just our support system, our strength from God, our armor of God, and our forgiveness most of all. Remember you are human, my husbands intentions were good. But, it is my choice if I give in to temptation. Ultimately it all comes down to what I want most. To look and feel better or to give into temptation.
Today's thought: The Lord lifts us up from temptation when we reach out to Him.
