Days 7 & 8: Catch some zzzzs... and rethink your drink

I have a little bit of a problem with the goal of getting more sleep. If I go to bed earlier than usual, I wake up way earlier than usual. I have a protruding disk in my neck from an accident some years ago, and if I spend too much time lying down, my neck and back start to bother me. Once I wake up, I have to get up. So going to bed earlier usually backfires for me and I feel more tired than usual. I usually go to bed at 10:00 and get up at 5:30. Usually I have no problem falling asleep, so I probably get at least 7 hours of sleep a night.
I already rethought my drink when I started logging my food. I had been in the habit of drinking a Dr. Pepper each day, but I have managed to quit that. I drink a cup of hot tea in the morning and a glass of ice tea during the day. I used to drink much more than that, but have had some problems with GERD so have cut back. I do drink a couple of cups of grape juice a week Today I drank tea and water, then realized the challenge for today was to drink only water.
It is 9:3 and I keep dozing off even as I write. To bed I go.
