Flab vs Sag

Saturday, February 21, 2015

Okay, please avert your eyes because it's self-indulgent overly-personal
thank-goodness for internet-anonymity introspection time.

Three months ago I was 35 lbs heavier and I had a serious case of muffin top, rolls of fat on my back when I twisted, and thighs and bottom so generously proportioned that the seams on my jeans stretched and frayed.

Now that I've lost some weight, I find myself fighting a new battle, against sag. There appears to be extra skin on my upper arms now, so I am working my triceps desperately. My bottom has lost its fullness and appears to have developed a sag - I just noticed it this week in the shower, to my horror. It can be contained in jeans but when not trussed in sturdy denim is a sadly droopy situation. So I'm climbing five flights of stairs several times a day during work breaks to try to build some form in my form. And my thighs - I am afraid to look at what's happening with the skin above my knees. It's probably best if I just ignore that area for now. I fear that particular issue may require divine intervention.

Don't worry, BEMUSED! You'll have plenty of time to firm up those areas you're worried about. You've done such a great job on the weight loss that there's no doubt you'll have the willpower to tackle your problem areas as well. In my case, in spite of still having lots of flab, I have lots of sag! If I weren't such a scaredy cat about medical procedures, I would sign myself up for a tummy tuck right now. It would be nice to get rid of some of this extra flesh in one fell swoop!
