Why did the woman cross her legs?
Thursday, February 26, 2015
The classy answer, of course, is that the woman crossed her legs because she's a *lady*. But since I'm the woman in question, I know the real reason: I have started crossing my legs because I once again *can*.
Over the years, my legs had increased in girth so that their generous proportions meant that whenever I tried to cross my legs, I needed to twist and tilt, using gravity and leverage, in order to get one leg crossed over the other. And once I succeeded, the fabric of my pants was stretched to its physical limit, and I felt the circulation in my upper legs starting to cut off. So, I gave up on crossing my legs, and settled for crossing my ankles instead.
Imagine my surprise and delight - yes, it doesn't take a lot to make me happy - when the lbs started to drop off and my legs started slimming down to normal proportions and I could cross my legs again in comfort. It's a small thing, something I used to take for granted until I couldn't do it anymore, but being able to cross my legs is another sign of progress. It's a treat to be able to strike a lady-like pose again.
