I bought myself a new pair of pants. Unlike every pair of pants I've bought in the last decade, I bought these one size smaller, and not one size larger.

Three months ago, all my pants were as snug as tourniquets, forcing a non-existent waistline and causing overflowing muffin tops. During the weeks of my diet, my pants became miraculously confortable, and then too loose, and then I started going through my closet for pants which I had set aside on higher shelves which I had outgrown. Now *those* pants are loose, so the next set of pants I have are over a dozen years old, and I decided to put my money where my diet is and spring for a new pair of pants. I bought them online, off the clearance page of my favorite store. They showed up a few days ago and I've put them through the washer and dryer.

And now I'm hesitant to put them on. What if they are too small still? I need to suck it up (hopefully not literally) and try them on.

This is wonderful news, but it makes me feel like I do at the end of an episode in an exciting TV drama, you know where they write on the screen "To be continued."

What's going to happen next?! You'd better tell us tomorrow how this turned out! I'm predicting, like APRILRUSSELL3, that the pants will fit! Or even be loose! Way to go, BEMUSED!

I am so inspired to read this. I love it! I know it feels so good to be going down through the sizes. I bet those pants will fit too! Good for you!
