Looking through my blogs, I realized that I didn`t post a blog when David and I went up to the snow.
It was an amazing trip. I had made reservations a few months in advance and we stayed at a "Days Inn" for $60 including a hot full breakfast.
We drove up on a Monday and came back home on Tuesday.
This was the sight we saw getting off the freeway and taking the route through Prescott Valley . It was so cool to see fog like this.
Because it was too early to check into the hotel...we went to see near by areas that might have enough snow to get pretty pictures. There was enough snow to build a snow man of which I can`t remember ever doing.
It was so much fun.
We decided to take a drive to Grand Canyon as it was only 60 miles away. No snow there but it was C-O-L-D and the wind was blowing
The sun was shining do bright on this rock formation, that it looked like fire.
When we were headed down for breakfast the next morning, we were delighted to see that GOD had left us a blanket of snow over night...about 6 inches. I had never seen snow in such a pure state. I was running around taking pictures like a little kid that had free reign of candy in a candy store. I am sure that I was amusing others.
My husband clearing off the windshield at 30 degrees in the car. I know that is not cold to some of you but when you are not use to it...it is very cold.
This is a beautiful country church that we always drive by. So beautiful with snow on it.
This is Pastor Billy...cleaning the outside of the sidewalks. He invited us inside of this 100 year old building. We had a conversation and I hated to leave.
Beautiful sites around town
Kaibab Lake that use to be full to the brim. The town is now in a serious state of having no water supply. There is a well being drilled that will save the town if water is located.
A tourist attraction called "BearAriona"
We went into Pine Country and shared a piece of pecan pie.
We headed home by way of Oak Creek canyon. This is a great shot of San Fransisco Peaks...the highest mountain range in northern Arizona.
Wonderful pictures. I'm glad you had such a nice trip. It's odd to hear someone being so delighted with snow when most of the country is sick and tired of it. Even I, who loves snow, am glad to see the end of it for this year. 1850 days ago
