Line Dancing & Me

I want to make my workouts a large variety. As we move into the summer months, I plan on increasing more activities into my workout program. I understand that if I keep doing the same thing, I will become complacent and possibly lose interest. This week has been great. Between walking the treadmill to line dancing. I have had fun but unfortunately, it may not be enough.
Line dancing is a great activity to do if you want to dance, meet people and just enjoy yourself. However, when you first go, it's the learning curve that throws your workout into a lull. Most of the time is spent learning the steps and by time you learn those steps, you will be learning the steps for the next dance.
Now I'm not saying don't do it. I'm saying just don't rely on line dancing to burn calories unless it's at an intensity level that causes you to increase your heart rate. Get out there and get moving!
