Day 111 - Friday Festivities

Saturday, March 21, 2015

I had lunch with my new boss today. We were supposed to visit one of the Habitat home projects beforehand, but the guys weren't there, even though yesterday they said they would be. Richard didn't have a key to the house, so he couldn't show me the inside.

After lunch we went back to the office, but he had forgotten his key and the office was all locked up. This could be a trend. Good thing he has hired me to keep things organized! First order of business: carry keys to everything!

After I got home, we got the upstairs poor back together after the new carpet was laid. Beds were remade, and extra sheets and pillows set aside for donation.

Then we took the dogs for their walk and saw our realtor, who invited us over for a glass of wine. Our new neighbors Jason and Fiona came by and we all toasted my new job. Fiona, who is an elected state official, is already planning a fundraiser for Habitat in my honor! I'm feeling pretty special.

We ended the night with a quiet dinner for two while looking out at the lake. What a great way to end the week...

Ha! I've had that happen as well. I needed to meet with a corporate exec onsite at my location, and neither he nor I could get into the building.... and it was about 10 degrees outside that morning. Because of that incident, I now have a key to my location.

At any rate, you seem to be off to a wonderful start, and it's so GREAT to have wonderful neighbors to celebrate with! I do hope that you enjoy your new job and it is all that you want it to be!

Another great day, my friend! I had to laugh at the clamity of keys! So nice you have had the opportunity to dine and be around the people you will work with...makes the transition easier and more comfortable! By the way, I think Habitat for Humanity is such a great organization! How wonderful to be able to work for them!
And how cool is it to meet your new neighbors and havea fundraiser already in the works in your honor! Awesome!
