Such a Pity Party!

Tuesday, March 24, 2015

It's Tuesday now and after a night's sleep, I was angry this morning for those self-pitying feelings I blogged about yesterday! Oh my gosh. But I guess we do need to be gentle with ourselves sometimes and just accept the process. Feeling better today and ready for another day of clean eating and a 3 mile walk.

btw, I made myself black bean salsa for supper yesterday with diced fresh grapefruit, black beans, onion, green onion, black pepper and a splash of balsamic vinegar. Now really, how much more yummy can food get than that????!!!!

That black bean salsa sounds delish. I'm always surprised by how much I crave potato chips and how not-so-good they actually taste. Ditto donuts. Not to mention how they FEEL the day after!!

Gee, I didn't see it as a pity-party... more a boot-strap pull-up! Well done with the salsa! emoticon

A long time ago I said to a friend, "I don't want to do a pity party." And she said, "Why not? What's wrong with it?" She really stopped me in my tracks and I still often turn it over in my mind. Of course if we were stuck there 24/7, that would not be good, but if we never expressed anything but upbeat stuff, it wouldn't be real. On top of that, we sometimes help other people by talking about the other side of things.

We support each other through the rough bits and we're glad you're feeling better today. emoticon

My dear friend Sandi. I didn't feel you were having a pity party but revealing the new and improved way of your thinking. You are thinking healthy , lean, longevity and the feeling of accomplishment.

You are an inspiration to those around you, and you certainly inspire me to always think before I eat something not so healthy. WE will be two 5%r's that make the maintenance a life time commitment. We will not because of pity parties but because of healthy living and wisdom in knowing the difference.

Hope we get that walk in next week. So far the calendar is still clear.

Really didn't think it was a pity party at all! Just a view backward, perhaps with a little nostalgia...but you are different now. "To do better, you have to KNOW better." You definitely know better now, and you ARE doing better. That's all that counts! Salsa sounds fabulous!

Ah a little bit of foot stomping never hurt anyone. And goodness knows we have all been there.
    The salsa sounds amazing.
Hope you are having a great Tuesday!

I will have to try your salsa! Sounds delish! I have a similar one with Mango instead of Grapefruit...can't wait to try.

I think we all have those pity party days. Thank goodness they don't last. Glad you have pushed past that day.

The pity party was yesterday. What will today bring? The possibilities are endless!

I agree with everyone! None of us is perfect and we all need to vent. I have a motivational message that I saved from SP that says "Every day is a chance to get it right". It is the most favorite of all the sayings I have. I know we can get it right!

Yep! I agree with SWEDE_Su's comment. And you KNOW what to do and always will now. I sometimes rant too...we all do...this is our "SAFE PLACE" to do just that! It's a NEW day, and I am praising the Lord that He ALWAYS gives us a NEW day!

I agree with Rasberry56, consider it a vent not a pity party, and ps what u made sounds amazing! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Consider it more of a "vent" than a "pity party" and you may find yourself feeling differently about what you posted yesterday (many of us fellow sparkers, myself included, have done the same thing - and ya gotta admit, getting that down on "paper", as it were feels good, doesn't it?)..........also, keep in mind that yesterday is *over* and you have *today* to be the best *you* that you can!

    PS: that salsa sounds *yummy*!
