Better than laughs

It's April Fools', which has to be one of the best days of the year because there are treats to be found everywhere online. The google home page must have something quirky; news sites might have joke stories; funny tales will show up in my email.
A few years ago I pulled off an unforgettable trick at work but have never been able to match it; I don't even bother trying anymore. So in honor of the day I went online searching for diet and weight loss jokes, and instead of finding them funny I found that there was a kernel of truth in most that ended up making them seem a little profound.
For example, I found: "My new diet goal: to weigh what my drivers license says."
And I thought I was the only one silly enough to understate my weight for my license! As I gained weight over the years, the extent of my understatement grew - but I didn't ever wonder how common these white lies were. So I decided to pull out my license and saw that I understated my weight by at least 25 lbs the last time I renewed it. Bad me! But the great thing is that now I weigh 5 lbs less than what my license says - who would have thunk it? I have to wait almost two years before I renew again; maybe then I will not mind being honest when filling out the application!
