Three Weeks Post Surgery
Tuesday, April 07, 2015
Today is 3 weeks since my hysterectomy. I feel a million times better!! I am so grateful that I had the surgery sooner rather than later (I was originally wanting to wait until July). I did contract a urinary tract infection in the first week. But after a round of antibiotics, I am doing much better!
Health wise, I have more strength & energy than I did before surgery. I do still watch the amount of weight I’m lifting. I also can’t walk & work as long as I’d like.
I finally feel like controlling & limiting my food. For a few months before my surgery, I felt so yucky that I didn’t worry about what I was eating & frequently ate good old fashioned comfort food! Now, although I still go over my calorie goal, I am at least making better choices & logging all my food.
Fitness has been slow. I am doing some Leslie Sansone walks & some outside walks. I am also participating in the “Walk About Challenge” with my Ready, Set, Spark team! It has kept me on track, without pushing me too hard. I am postponing any core work until my next dr appt on April 27th. I am really hoping to be cleared to workout then. Thankfully, I kept my “bigger” clothes after I lost the weight last year. I have had to bring out my bigger jeans & shorts. But I KNOW I will get back to my smaller sizes again!!
