More restaurant reconnaissance

Friday, April 24, 2015

We have a 3-day soccer weekend ahead of us - our kid is playing with her team at a "college showcase" two states away. Tomorrow we drive ~6 hours for the first game, and stay to Sunday for three games total before driving back.

Which means three days of eating out, and more restaurant menu reconnaissance online. One of the other soccer parents has chosen a bar and grille for Saturday's team dinner - the menu is full of deep-fried temptations, burgers, and pizzas. I've found two salads that will do if I ask for some ingredients to be left out, so I am prepared. Now to stalk online other nearby restaurants for the remaining meals....

This morning a doctor checked out my foot and said she thought it was a large ganglion cyst (she didn't actually say large but when she opened the examination door and saw my naked foot from the hallway she exclaimed: I can see that bump from here!). She referred me to a podiatrist who I will see in mid-June if the cyst doesn't resolve on its own. She also mentioned that in the "old days" treatment would involve smashing a large Bible on the cyst - but I escaped that today!

My MIL actually had a doctor smash a cyst on her hand, with a heavy book. Just put your hand on the table and BAM. It was many years ago. Have a great weekend!

Thanks for making me laugh out loud ("I can see that bump from here") before I head out to work! Bemused, you are funny. I think that cyst will go away if you don't pay any attention to it. Good luck!

eta: Oh yeah, have a great time on the weekend! You will ace eating out!
