Home safe home

What a relief it is to be back home. I love traveling with the family, but it's dangerous to have a teenage kid with the busy metabolism and high carb needs of a soccer player choose restaurants for our meals. It is so nice to be back home where I have more control over our food.

I have a lot of trouble with restaurants! These days, every time my husband says, "Shall we eat out tonight?" I decline. I just don't like the feeling of not having control. I'm not a health nut, but there's no doubt that some restaurant food, especially at chains, has chemicals and preservatives. Even though the food tastes really good, I ALWAYS feel different after eating restaurant food from the way I do after eating my own cooking. So I totally identify with your relief at being once again under your own roof! Enjoy your freedom!

I totally see where you are coming from. My soon to be 11 (already into puberty) son can eat like crazy and is super thin. We can't get him kid's meals at restaurants anymore. We went to an Italian restaurant the other night and I got a chicken dish which normally comes with pasta. I asked for steamed veggies instead of the pasta and was charged $3.00. Seriously? Eating healthy gets expensive. :)

    Keep on rocking!
