More Pictures From Our Camping Trip

Thursday, May 07, 2015

Before I post pictures I want to share my disappointment. I have been doing a virtual walk across America by logging my miles walked on a site from Berkley. I started in Virginia and would end up on the coast in Oregon. I had made it as far as Idaho so was excited to see the end of my trip not far ahead for me. When I tried to log my miles yesterday I got a message that the exercise site had been retired. I will really miss doing that. It was fun to see an actual photo and map of where you would be if you walked that route. emoticon

More pictures of our canyon hike.

There were some areas of trees on the trail.

I picked up a passenger when we went through here. First tick bite I have had since moving to Washington.

Lexie decided it was time for a drink and to cool her toes.

The train tracks were across the river from the campground and we got to listen to them day and night!

Another picture of the area.

Including pictures of the beautiful sunset we had last night reflecting off the storm clouds.

The sunset is awesome. I am so glad I found this. I love seeing Lexie in the water. What a great experience. I always tented in UK but DH was not the outside type , I was but I loved him enough to give it up. He was the dancer and I have 2 left feet so I guess we both has a sacrifice for one another. HUGS Pat in Maine.

Thank you for this morning's vacation! I'm sorry to hear about the virtual walk disappointment. If / when you find another that you're going to try, I'd love to do it along with you. :)

    Martha,
Thanks for sharing beautiful pictures of scenery many of us will never get to see. We used to live about 500-800 yards from some tracks in Ohio. Once we got used to it it wasn't too bad.
Sorry about the virtual walk. I had been trying to remember who wrote about it so I could do it. Fitbit sent me a digital award for walking the length of Italy. I thought that was cool. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Just lovely Martha. I bet you also saw lots of stars at night. That is something I miss here in Holland, nothing like the seemingly billions of stars seen in the NM sky at night.
A few years ago I also did the virtual walk, am disappointed to hear they have stopped. It was very motivating to see how far I had walked each week.
Thanks for sharing your trip! emoticon

Good pics! Where is this canyon?

About ticks...the people we walked with in Alberta, Canada last summer reported that the ticks are traveling north as the climate changes and we get warmer. Chiggers, too. I knocked a tick off my arm Friday while I was hiking, but that's to be expected in Missouri.
