Backsliding

So I can't deny it anymore - I am clearly slipping back into my old bad night-time snacking habits.

Taking a deep breath here.

Tomorrow is a new day. I will start it with new resolve, and remind myself that this is a lifestyle change. For good health, I need to replace the junk snacking with healthy snacking, if I can't keep from snacking.

Just when I thought it was getting easier, my foolish brain turns out to be more stubborn and difficult than expected. No, that's not true - I did already know that I'm stubborn and difficult!

    Is there a chance when you are reaching for that night-time snack that you are actually just tired and fooling your brain to eat to stay awake longer? Or maybe bored? I know when I'm tired, I don't always make good choices. You are stronger than those snacks that are off limits. There's always good snacks-fruit/yogurt or something. (Yogurt even helps me sleep). emoticon

    Well, what can I say? I sure know the feeling, and I can't give advice because I have not achieved success in the nighttime snacking department, though I could be the head of the being-good-all-day-until-nighttime department.

    If I could say just one thing, though, maybe I would say please don't take this too seriously. Please don't worry or panic. I don't want you to feel bad because I really like you, Bemused!

    And I promise not to name the names of any more delicious cakes, or send you any recipes, which I was sort of thinking about doing!

    I cannot break myself of night time snacking, but I limit myself to protein snacks, yogurt, 1 ounce of cheese, etc. The protein always helps control my eating. I accept that I will have something after dinner, I just need to choose better, and you will too now that you are aware of what you are doing. --Pam
