To Scale Or Not To Scale, That Is The Question

Tuesday, June 09, 2015

I am one of these people that weigh every day. Yes, it is a little bit o.c.d., but I have my reasons.

Today I went in to weigh and realized that my scale battery had died.

O.K. you might be thinking that it has died from me weighing in every day, that may be only part of the reason.

I have a 7 year old cat that likes to lay on my scale. She weighs about 15+ pounds.

When I noticed that she was laying/sleeping on my scale, I would try to remember to pick it up and put it on my desk. I did not always remember to do that.

Then I noticed part of the digital was missing or blurry. So by her consistently laying on my scale she has given my scale battery an early demise.

I do have an older Doctor type scale. I dug it out of the moth balls today (not really in moth balls). I did have it hidden behind the dining room curtains. LOL.

I love that old Dr's scale, but my digital scale tells it like it is.

Blessings to all.

Everybody has their own way of doing things...including your cat!! LOL!! I, too, weigh every day. If I didn't, I would probably weigh 500 pounds. I don't think it makes a bit of difference except to the individual person. Everyone needs to decide for themselves! Including your cat!! emoticon emoticon

For me if I didn't weigh in once a week I wouldn't loose weight. It is my motivation.

I only weigh about once a month....none of my kitties are into weighing themselves. emoticon Mine still prefer sleeping on clean, warm towels..... I have to put all laundry away immediately.... or cat hair happens.
I love that you hid the Dr scale behind the curtains.

I weigh every day too, but I don't obsess if I am up bit. Sometimes I know it is time to drop back calories for a day or two, sometimes I know I had a salty meal the night before and I am just holding some extra water. But I don't let the scale report get to my emotions. It's just a tool. But we all have to do whatever is right for us individually.

I also weigh every morning. I feel it keeps me in check with my weight. Sometimes I remember I need to cut back on calories for a day. Thanks for the reminder Brenda! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Pros and cons to everything. I've done it both ways. Right now I'm at about every other day. However, I love the cat story! Now that's funny.

I weigh almost every day. I know the advice says not to, but I like to keep tabs because it makes me more aware of what I eat when I know I'll be accountable the next morning. Besides, it's so rewarding when the number is actually smaller. Can the battery in your digital be replaced?
