Whoa...it's been over 3 months since I last posted a blog on here. That's just crazy talk...I know it may seem like I fell off the face of the planet, or at the very least, fell off the wagon but that is definitely not the case. I just haven't had a lot of time for Sparking, and honestly, it's hard for me to figure out where and how Spark fits into my life these days.
I still love the social aspect of it, but I don't find the blog interface to be very user friendly most of the time. I don't necessarily want to track my food so I don't use that tool these days. So if I do stop in, it is just to quickly earn some points, check on some peeps, and then get back to other platforms. I'm still blogging at my off-site blog. I'm still an ambassador for SunRype USA fruit products and Skirt Sports. The Skirt Sports Ambassadorship has been absolutely AMAZING! Such an awesome group of ladies that I've gotten to know on our Facebook page. They are all truly different sizes, shapes, ages, fitness levels. Skirt Sports isn't kidding when they say "Real Women, Real Bodies, Real Inspiration". I won't go into it too much because last time I posted about the giveaways going on my post was yanked, so I can't tread the line of promoting a brand other than SparkPeople here. Sorry about that...
So other than what I've already covered, I ran a half marathon at the end of May - the hardest half I've ever done because it was just SO. MANY. HILLS. So many...Then I ran a 10k in early June, and a virtual 13er the following weekend in June (which I ended up only doing 11, but whatevs). I'm still running 3-4 days a week and doing cross-training at least once a week. I've been really enjoying Barre style workouts on DVD. I have Core Fusion Barre Basics, Ballet Fitness with Nicky McGinty, and Ballet Beautiful's Total Body Workout. They are all great in their own rights but I'm enjoying the Ballet Fitness the most so far. It is the most like dancing while working out and she has a British accent so that's a huge plus. Hahaha (Why does everything sound better when it is in a British or Australian accent???)
My food is okay - not perfect, but okay. Good enough I guess you could say. I eat pretty healthy most of the time, but definitely indulge some of the time. My weight has been staying pretty level so when it's time for me to do maintenance I should have no problem if my current situation is proof positive of my ability to stay at a specific weight for what seems like FOR-EV-ER. I haven't been weighing myself on a regular basis, but all the clothes fit just fine and I've even had a couple people ask if I'm losing. I, personally, don't think I am...but I do think I'm continuing to get more tone. I can see muscles in my legs that are more tone than I've probably ever seen them.
I do still have about 40 pounds to lose and I know that I will eventually get to a place where I'm really serious about LOSING it. But for now I'm just kind of enjoying life. I'm not in school over the summer so I'm really enjoying not having homework to stress over. haha My daughter, Melissa, is expecting her first baby - our third grandbaby - in October of this year so we are all really excited about a new little one. Joshua is turning 5 this September and Angelique is turning 4 so it's been awhile since we've had a baby around. :-)
So really, life is pretty darn good! I'm hanging in there and enjoying being active and getting outside as much as possible when I'm not working. But I will try to be a little more active on Spark so I can at least share in the journey with all my SparkFriends! But if you ever want to read more, feel free to follow my other blog over at
