Not bad place to restart

I had a foot injury and couldn't run or do any weight bearing exercises for a while. My podiatrist told me I could only cycle and swim for at least 6 months. I was so distraught; I am a runner and love doing so. Well, I took that as the end and gave up; even went back to old eating habits … gaining back half the weight I lost. I had an awakening and realized I didn't want to get back where I used to be so started to get back on track … slowly. I have been released and allowed to do what I want. Having learned to listen to my body and won't "push through the pain" if I start hurting again. I wasn't that fast when I was running in the past, but I had stamina and was able to run for 3-5 miles straight. Happy to say that I have started running again and not too far off my time -- only 1:17 per mile slower than my last run (I was hurting at that time but was basically at that time anyway) Not a bad place to restart
