Exercise, and The Food Diary, and How Important They Are

Besides having the Sparkpeople website to keep me on track food wise, by entering in all the things I eat, my Sparkpeople tracker is an additional inspiration. Every day, I HAVE to get that thing to light up and tell me I have reached my goals. I have done it every single day for about two months now, and being that I was in a wheelchair with a fractured knee three months ago, it is a pretty good accomplishment.

I have found that if I vary the things I do, in addition to riding a bike for bad knees at the gym, I have more fun with exercise. I do "Silver Sneakers" classes at my YMCA, which are for people with movement problems, or just people that are not agile enough to do heavy duty exercise. For right now, they really are a wonderful part of my routine. I also found some online yoga and walking videos, and do those on the days I don't get to the gym. They all get me to my goals, and I feel pretty darn good. I have lost over 50 pounds, and my knees will be forever grateful.

Good luck to everyone. It isn't easy, but if you make a few good things with good ingredients, and enjoy your favorite fruits and vegetables, find exercise that you LIKE, you will be more successful. I find that if I am with a group of people, all fighting to get through the 45 minutes of exercise, it is easier!
