Still hit and miss.

I want to thank everyone who commented on my last couple of entries. I am hitting the busiest time of my work year for school bus training and am not keeping up with much online right now.

There are a few options for my back ... or more accurately a protocol they follow. Everything starts with me losing weight. If I cannot lose weight then most any treatment will not be very effective. I do have stretching and core strength exercises I do almost daily.

After I lose weight, if the pain persists they will do an MRI to get a more clear picture of the damage. Usually the next step is epidurals. If the epidurals do not work then they discuss surgery.

Not being in pain is a good motivator, but wanting to ride my bike again is a better one. I have 2 nice road bikes (one very old and one about 10 years old). I need to lose a lot of weight for the frame and tires to support me. Also, at my weight I would be too top heavy and much more likely to crash.

Today I finished day 7 of my 28 day (nearly) vegetarian challenge. So far so good. I lost a few pounds, increased fruit and veggies by an incredible amount and minimized all animal products. I am so happy with the first week.

I hope to pop in here more often, but if Saturday morning at 1:38 a.m. is the best I can do, then that will have to do.

Just for the record, my Ambien is in full effect as I type ... So surprised I didn't make any typos.

    You have a great, realistic view of what you need to do and why you want to do it. I'm impressed.

    I took ambien for awhile so I know all too well about not trying to do anything after I have taken it.

    You can do it! You got over your fear of flying. You were able to fly to your meeting and safely back to Pam. You can do this too!
