Day 232 - Sunday Gratefulness

Sunday, July 19, 2015

Here's what I'm thankful for today...

...my sister Janet, who is making sure that my parents' house is ready for the buyers walk-through on Saturday. She's going over to the house today to clean out the garage and empty the fridge. The agents will arrange for the house to be cleaned before Saturday, so that they can close successfully on July 31.

...energy and enthusiasm for life, even when a curveball comes my way. I got lots of affirmations yesterday at dinner from friends who knew about my boss's tendencies, but were afraid to warn me about him when I was so excited about the job. My friends have got my back, and I am so grateful to have them in my life.

...chance encounters. At the Boatique Winery yesterday, a guy came up to chat with me because I was wearing my "Pentwater, Michigan" t-shirt. He was visiting from Ann Arbor. We chatted for a while, with lots of common themes (we went to colleges in the same conference - he went to Hope, I went to Alma College). He was from the town where my sisters were born. At the end of the conversation he put out his hand and said, "I'm Steve!" I did a double take and then said, "I'm Steve!" We both laughed, and he said "I guess I was destined to meet you today!"

...living in a spectacular place that gives me great joy. Nothing bad happens in life when I can look out on the water and find peace.

...celebrating the end of another year on the planet. We're going out to dinner Wednesday at our new favorite Mexican place to mark the end of me being 57. I'll have to remember to update my profile on Thursday!

...especially, for all of you. You give me the courage to speak my mind, the wisdom to know when to keep my mouth shut, and the smiles that lift my spirits. A rough week was made smoother because of your support and encouragement.

Keep Sparking friends! Have a great day!

Oh, I love Mexican food - mmhh, black bean mush and guacamole! Look after yourself this week, keep on telling your boss he is a mean bully and hold your head high, Steve! You are a winner....

Sounds like you have everything under control. If I forget, Happy Birthday. You have a good support system and are thankful for that. What else does one need?

    Have a great week.

I liked the last one best. Not so sure you need a lot of courage! You seem to have that covered on your own.

When we learn the lessons that each day teaches, when we find comfort and peace in nature, when we trust that good will prevail over evil if we involve ourselves in doing good, then we can step into each new day, each new experience and each new relationship and be thankful for we are abundantly blessed.
