Day 235 - Last Day Being 57
Wednesday, July 22, 2015
The earth has nearly completed 58 laps around the sun since I came into the world. My mother would tell you that delivering me on July 23, 1957, was quite an ordeal. My originally scheduled due date was July 5, and that summer in Michigan was particularly hot. Mom was uncomfortable, and all the ladies in the church kept saying "Are you still here?" because she hadn't given birth yet. I can only imagine that I felt just fine in my little space and didn't see any need to emerge.
I was born at 7:55am Eastern time on the 23rd, and have always believed (rightly, of course) that everyone born on the 23rd of the month is extra special.
It has been a fairly good week, and I'm going to keep it that way. Tonight we're having dinner with friends and then will invite them back to the house for homemade peach cobbler (Steve made it for me - woohoo!) and ice cream. Portion control will be in full force!
Tomorrow is my interview, and Steve will be working in the evening so we won't be spending much time together on my actual birthday, but that's ok. Friday morning I'll leave the house about 3:30am to get to the Sacramento airport for my flight to Michigan. I'll be back home on Sunday, in time to start a new week.
Thanks to all of you for making this birthday particularly special. I feel like we're having a big party, and I want to hug each one of you and say thanks for being in my life. It's the best birthday present I could have asked for!
