So.. a friend of mine has a daughter who is in her early 30's and has struggled with allergies, pain and headaches and some serious infections as long as I've known her. Also struggled with her weight.
She has started a new supplement, and is off of her inhalers, her allergies are gone, headaches are down to 2-3 per month instead of per day and she has lost dozens of inches (I think 40) over her entire body (arms, legs, waist, tummy, chest, neck, etc). And, her energy is way good now, rather than sleeping a lot, she is up & going. She has only been on it a few months, and is still around 300 pounds, but she has lost so much in inches, gained health and gained energy....I'm intrigued and amazed enough to try it out.
So, I got curious enough to ask her for a sample packet, so that I could try it. Don't want to order something that tastes gross, or makes me feel 'off' and then have wasted a bunch of $ right out of the gate.
So, here I am this morning. Have been gluten free 4 1/2 years, and feeling so much healthier for it, never going back. Been vegetarian as a family since December 12th, 2014, even more healthy feeling, never going back.
What do I expect this new supplement to help with? Apparently a lot of the thyroid issues, from the books etc that I have read over the years, goes back to gut health. And gut health can be tied in some degree to sugars and over use of antibiotics. This supplement company claims to have worked out an energy giving, carb cravings/sugar craving cutting and gut health enhancing product. I'm willing to give it a go for this three day trial run. If I can live with the taste of it, which honestly reminds me of the punch flavored vitamin water, and I feel no ill effects of it... then I will order some & see if I am one of the people who can be helped by this product.
Figure, if I order it, to give it a fair shake, I will try it for 3 months, if I do well on it for 3 months, I will try it for 6 months- if that goes well.. then a year & we will see if I can reach my goals.
I'm expecting it to help if it truly cuts down my sugar cravings & improves my gut health. As you may have gathered in my blogs, counting calories has helped me to shed pounds; but with stress --- I do give into sugary drinks and sweets & chips. Especially this went off track 2x in the past year. First time was with our foster placement that lasted ten months, & the second was this dramatic illness that nearly has taken my mother's life. Long drives & long stays at a hospital in stress induced state had me back on the bottle (pepsi), and buying hershey's almond bars.....
So, not to digress, but- we shall see, am starting something new this morning for a 3 day trial of the drink to see if it grosses me out or not
