August Goals

Saturday, August 01, 2015

Boy, I went a whole month without a blog. It has been busy month & I am glad its over. But the upcoming months look to be just as busy & crazy!!

I am dealing with another (or the same) sinus infection. This has been pretty constant since March (when I had my hysterectomy). I have felt very much "not myself" this whole year. I go to the ENT Aug 14th. I already had a CT scan of my sinuses & I can see some buildup in the areas I'm having pain & pressure in. I expect he will schedule a procedure to clean out my sinuses, the sooner the better.

Also in Aug, my dad will have another chemo treatment. His "bad" cells have almost disappeared, but his white cell count is still a little high. The dr wants to do 4 more treatments, every 3 weeks. I plan to be there for him for those as well.

On a happy note, my second son is planning a wedding in Oct! My future daughter in law lost her mother to cancer a couple of years ago. I have been honored to "fill in" for her & we are helping them as much as possible with planning & ideas. The wedding will be at my in-law's home on the river.

Because of all these upcoming things, I have only planned 4 days of school each week until after the wedding. The boys are excited about this, but I have planned a lot more work than they have been used to. We are using Notgrass World History for the first time this year. We are also doing a plant science study that will need to be done every day.

I do have some goals I want to reach this month:

~ Do the Joyce Meyer University study for the month

~ Do a yoga video each day. I have really liked the "Sara Beth" ones on Youtube. She has one for each day of the week & lots of others I will do if I get bored with the dailies.

~ Do a Jessica Smith video each day. I'm going to start with her Fitin15 plan, maybe repeating each one twice thru the month.

~ Finish the last 3 miles of my Leslie Sansone 100 mile challenge. I was really hoping to finish it by the end of July, but i was feeling too bad due to the sinus stuff. Its also my hubby's last 2 days of vacation, so I'm trying to really focus on him!!

~ Go thru the SP small changes calendar. I definitely need "small" things to stay on track!

~ Finish the Black Panther Summer challenge strong. I have had some really faithful weeks, just no weight loss whatsoever to show for it.

~ Work on assembling two quilts for my nieces for Christmas. I do not plan to get them quilted, just ready for quilting. I'd also like to start ones for my dad & sister to be ready for Christmas. I finally finished my son's bed quilt. He has been waiting "somewhat" patiently since March!! I will try to upload a pic to my Spark Page. It is really one of my favorite patterns. I hope to make it again!

Ok, now I'm off to drink some water (10 glasses a day is my goal) and play the AlphaBetty game on my phone. Now i know why I never wanted a smart phone!!

Blessings!!

Sorry you are still dealing with a sinus infection. Praying that the ENT will be able to take care of the problem.

That's a pretty ambitious August you've got planned out. Whatever you get done will be all positive, so focus on that. It sounds as if your stress level is high, so take good care of YOU this month. emoticon
