And we're off

Sunday, August 09, 2015

We drove 2 hours each way to watch the kid and her HS team play 3 games yesterday; they also played 3 games the day before. 6 games, 6 losses. This is going to be a tough season for the team.

But it was still a good day. The son decided to spend it with us, so we spent the whole day in the car and at the games with him, which was a treat. And the kid played well; she made some gorgeous passes, one of which was the assist for her team's only goal of the day.

We let the kid choose dinner on the way home and ended up at a buffet restaurant. I went up 5 times, to make me feel like I was appropriately buffet-ing, but each time my plate was about 1/5 or 1/4 full. I had a lot of veggies, fruit, and protein, chose my starch very selectively, and still ended up sticking to plan after I had logged in everything for the day. So ... a good day still.

Glad you had a good day with family. Great way to control the buffet eating. Keep up the good work. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Good job on the nutrition, Bemused, and how wonderful that your son chose to go on your road trip with you and the family. You all must get along VERY well for him to choose spending the whole day either in the car with his parents or in the bleachers watching his little sister play soccer! He loves his family! Sounds totally fun!

I like how you handled the buffet. One trip, doesn't feel like you're getting your money's worth.
