Late night temptations

Thursday, August 13, 2015

This kid of ours has late nights - today he didn't get in until almost 1:30 am. And, worrywart mother that I am, I can't go to bed until he's safely home. The long, late nights mean more time and temptation to snack.

The latest thing tempting me are those darned goldfish crackers. The other kid has decided that the cheddar flavor blaster goldfish are the bomb, so we have a big carton of it in the house. And they are crunchy and flavorful and addictive, so are sometimes very hard to resist. Well, at least they are baked and not fried, and healthier than chips!

I don't start what I can't stop, and goldfish crackers are on that list. LOVE them.

It could be worse... My husband brought home zingers and twinkles. I just didn't open that cupboard... emoticon
Gold fish crackers are not that bad. Just measure out your serving size and include it in your calorie tracking. I get into trouble when I just eat from an open container and not track. My kids are only 6 & 4, but I can imagine how worried I'd be if and/or when they are old enough to stay out that late. Hopefully you were able to catch up on sleep.

I know exactly what you mean! My older daughter, who still lives with us, has to stay out late because of her rehearsals and performances and all that, and it is so hard to pass those hours productively without succumbing to temptation. I have to stay awake to pick her up at the station because the buses stop service around 11, and if we pay taxi fare every night, that would just be too extravagant, as the station is pretty distant (our mistake when we chose this house).

Anyway, I wish you luck with that big carton of goldfish! Those are only slightly less tempting for me than Cheezits, which you have already proved yourself capable of resisting! Be strong, Bemused!
