Caught up on sleep but not much else

Monday, August 31, 2015

I had a lazy, lazy weekend. We spent the first part with our oldest, and the rest getting house chores done, cooking, and sleeping. I slept in both weekend mornings - what a treat!

But all this laziness and relaxation comes at a price. I am still behind at work, and still have another stressful work week to look forward to. I used to enjoy work a lot more, and now a lot less because there is just so much to do and so hard to catch up. I just keep telling myself that if it were supposed to be fun, they wouldn't need to pay people to do it. Right?

The kid has 3 soccer games this week. They'll be the social highlights for us, being the lame soccer parents that we are. I am going to drag myself onto the treadmill. I am very out of shape compared to the hub and kids, and need to narrow the gap a little!

I wouldn't call it lazy catching up on sleep, sounds like you were seriously sleep deprived during the week, and you were still busy. It's not like you sat around all weekend! I have the same issue with my work, I have always loved my job but it gets stressful and much less enjoyable when you are so busy and behind that you feel like you will never get caught up. Hope this week is better for you. --pam

I hope this next week won't be quite as hard as you're expecting. Sorry there's too much to do. I'm imagining reports and appointments and no time to do the part of your job that you still enjoy. Bummer.

But isn't it great that you'll be rewarded with those soccer games, where you can watch your young soccer star score goals or assist? That must be so fun! I used to go watch my son and daughter when they were on the track and field teams. The meets were always on the weekends, though, and always during the day, so it was a good, cheap thing to do for weekend entertainment. Exciting, suspenseful, and often moving.

Guess that's true. Work isn't fun for most people. Guess that's why we get paid to work, right? Hope you had a great workout!
