I have not forgotten how to swim, but I might sit in the pool and look for a while, if these hunks were standing by the side of it!!
Alas, they never are, but I get my swimming in all the same. I have started to go to the YMCA pool later, at like 7 pm, because there is nobody there, and I can have quiet, swim as long as I like, it is good for me, and so relaxing.
I was wondering last night, how I am going to feel, coming to the pool in the Winter, when it is 20 below zero, and snow is everywhere, and I have to put on full regalia (snow boots, coat, hat, gloves) just to leave the house. I decided that I would still go swimming, as the YMCA is well heated, and they do warm the pool a bit in the Winter. I think I will feel even better, that I got there and did it!!
Because I am swimming for 50 minutes now, and like every minute of it, I decided that I will not ever stop swimming.
I am not big on looking back, but I did wonder last night why I never continued swimming, when it was such a big part of my life for so long...I was a lifeguard, and a good swimmer. My family had a pool the whole time I was growing up (we lived in L.A., EVERYONE has pools there).
No matter, I am doing it now, and I have no time for regrets, or what ifs. A few people have started that with me, and I stop them in their tracks. Don't let ANYONE lead you off your path. There will be detractors, who will be mad that you are so successful. Let the haters hate. You KNOW how well you are doing.
I know how well I am doing, and I am going to keep swimming.
