I made a ridiculous amount of food for the kid's soccer team dinner yesterday. So now I have leftover salad good for a couple of work lunches, leftover lasagna for a few dinners, leftover cookies to give away at work, and leftover grapes for snacking during the week.

We dragged tables and chairs out onto the lawn for the dinner and then wiped them down and dragged them back in afterward. I'm going to count that as exercise! :-)

The kid is such a teenager. She kept saying "Oh, Mom!" whenever I asked her for input about the food or preparations, and "Why did you sign up for this?" And then after the dinner, she told me "That was so much fun!" and agreed we should do it again next year. I think we went through this whole thing last year as well. Teenagers!

So glad it went well! These things can be nerve-wracking and exhausting, but I agree with your other commenters--you are a super mom, and your daughter will remember your efforts with love and gratitude, even if she has "teenage" moments now when she acts irritated or rolls her eyes in apparent mockery. Good job, Bemused!

The teenage years are only seven and then they are twenty-somethings...and just as annoying! LOL
