It's Drag Your Husband To The Park Day!

Monday, September 21, 2015

And that is just what happened. I love to walk in the park, but haven't done so in recent years, because we always want to do things together. Hubby has a lot of night shifts and gets tired and sluggish at hours that I am usually up an running. And every time I want to do something active together, he suggests to hang out, go out to eat, snuggle on the couch and watch a movie, all great things I also love. He usually won out, until just over the summer, when I took a good hard look at myself and decided that It is just time to go alone if he does not feel like it. The guy is great, works hard and really does deserve to spend his free time however he wants to. But so do I. So I have been going alone, or with the poodle. Today, I asked him when he woke up from his night shift sleep if he would like to join me, and since he had just gotten up, he said, he is still too drowsy, and would like to watch some TV first. So we watched some Criminal Minds, and as soon as the episode was over, I went and got my walking shoes on and said I don't mind to go alone, but he is invited to come along and if he does, I can show him all those nice places along the cliff I found. He jumped up, got dressed, and we marched off at a really good pace. He actually commented on how fast I am. He used to have to wait for me all the time, because I just couldn't go that fast, with my silly knees and all. I was cruising. We had a great, great time and decided to do this as much as we can. With the NY Winter (which can be 8 months long, blech) we will have to find alternatives, but the Parkoffice rents out snow shoes in winter we can use in the same area I now walk. I am so excited, since I snow shoed years ago and really loved it, but never had anyone to go with. Maybe I do now. And if I don't, I can still go it alone :) GO ME!!!!
