Day 46
Heavy Cleaning or house cleaning 22 minutes 197 calories burned

We had our get-together at church and we had fried chicken, potato salad, watermelon, ring bologna and Swiss cheese

I had a drumstick and gave the skin to my husband, about an ounce of Swiss cheese and a bottle of water.

We called our son on the way home from church. My husband has Blue Tooth in his car where he can call by speaking.

Our son came over, ate some chicken and we covered the pool. There is a wire that runs through grommets. My son wove it through haphazardly, the cover was put on with the edge of it up, which will give debris a place to hang onto. I wasn't happy with it, but it is on the pool.

I washed up as much as I could of what we took off of the pool. We brought the cover inside last night because it was supposed to rain. It rained last night and today. I had to vacuum the basement carpet because of all the grass that was on the pool cover being dragged in after our son trimmed last evening. I also had to vacuum the cellar entrance again.

I forget to write down my starting/stopping times when I clean and when I exercise. Vacuuming is a hard chore for me due to degenerative disc disease in my back. I would probably have more than enough minutes every week to go over my Spark People goals if I could just remember to write it down.

Hubby and our son got rid of an old fluorescent light fixture that we replaced. Our son knows of a business that will let us use their dumpster, so they took care of that.

Our son ordered batteries and will get a foam caulk to fill a hole that is around some wires coming into the house. He was going to do it last year, but the foam had hardened and wouldn't spray out of the can into a long plastic straw to be able to get it into the hole. He ordered some pocket T-shirts for my husband too. I gave him $40. He said he and his girlfriend would come here for supper on Tuesday.

I saw a silvery trail on the basement carpet and found a slug at the end of it. It was still alive. I cleaned up after it with a paper towel and blue Dawn and threw the slug into the trash. One year, I got ambitious and crawled under the pool deck to see what was there. Trash blows under there. I was pulling up something and a rock turned over. There were eggs that looked like clear gelcaps. I thought they might have been from a salamander because we have them here, but when I looked online, they were slug eggs. I don't know if salamanders lay eggs or have live births.

I emptied out my vacuum cleaner dirt cups since tonight is trash night and we brought home the trash from the church since we cleaned it yesterday and had chicken bones and watermelon rinds in the trash today. We don't want to draw vermin or ants to the watermelon rinds.

I am tired so I may just make a list tonight what I want to do tomorrow. The flowerbeds need the thistles/dandelions pulled out. The walkways need swept and I never did clean up the helicopter seeds from Spring. We never used the patio set on the pool deck. I would like to sit out there on nice evenings and have my coffee, but it seems that time is flying. I don't remember feeling like I had not accomplished things when I was younger due to being tired or other things pushing it aside.

Here a little, there a little and I get stuff done, but sometimes it feels like I am eating an elephant, one bite at a time. I have trash to gather, the litter box to wash and refill and then I am done all that I am going to do this evening.

Do what you can, dear heart~ just don't over do it. RIght now you're focused on getting your blood glucose stable. Once you get that under control I bet your energy will soar as you continue to drop the pounds. Keep up your diligent efforts~ it will pay off. And I think I'd be looking for a new physician, as I wouldn't sit still for one yelling at me. Love ya, sweetie~ hope you enjoy a great week! *hugs* BB~ emoticon

Hopefully next year, since your hubby is retired, you will be able use your pool more often. I see many of my neighbors who have pools rarely using them. I am beginning to wonder if it is worth the expense of buying and maintaining. My one neighbor has a filter running consistently. I imagine their electric bill is through the roof. Mine is high enough without a pool. I have considered an Endless Pool. I actually visited their office and demo in PA. It is a pool which has an artificial flow that allows you to swim in place. But the price tag of $10,000 plus upkeep was more than I wanted. I LOVE to swim but since the town closed their pool I have not had much opportunity to do so. If I ever did get that pool it would have to be installed so I could use it all year long. That would mean another $15,000 + for added building extension since I would not want it inside my basement or garage because of the water vapor causing rot. Sigh, so I guess I just have to look for alternatives.

I enjoyed reading your blog! You had a full day, to say the least! It makes our rather calm day seem rather unproductive. I have been awake since a quarter to five - try as I may, I just couldn't get back to sleep. I laid there & prayed for every need that Holy Spirit brought to mind. After getting up to greet my day, I worked on my Bible study homework until around eight; at which time I awoke our "Little Gal" & took her for her rather late in the morning walk. emoticon All the while my beloved MrV was sound asleep - that was after a rather sleepless night for his sweet self. We spend a leisurely morning getting ready for church. Enjoyed a really super teaching. Had a simple lunch of chicken cordon bleu, green beans, & salad. After putting the kitchen back to rights, we went for a second walk & have been doing what my energetic MrV calls "puttering" ever since. "Puttering" means whatever catches our fancy. We played with "Little Bit" for a while & now I am visiting in "Sparkville" & he is doing some things outdoors, after he took our sweet "Little Gal" for, yet, another short walk. Now, while "Little Bit" naps, I am going to call a girlhood friend to have a good old fashioned "chinwag".

    God bless your coming week!
