Moving day and Car Inspection..
Tuesday, September 29, 2015
So we went to NYC on Sunday to help my broken hearted daughter Julia move to a new apartment shared with two other women. She and her boyfriend broke up, and now have to move out of the Studio Apartment. The last time I helped someone move I was a lot younger. And less... uhm.... FLUFFY. Both apartments are on the second floor, and we had to trot up and down a lot to get things in and out. My knees were sad the whole time. And then when we had carried her last belongings into the new place, we tried to find a permanent parking spot so we could go to dinner with her. After about 30 minutes of driving around, looking on all the streets for parking, we decided to just drive further away, and take a stroll up to her place. So needless to say, we got about another hour of walking in. Remind me never to suggest to her to get a car while she lives in NYC. Yesterday, I was still so sore from moving, carrying and walking, that all I was able to do was very gentle low impact marching while watching TV, and then some yoga to help untie the knots in my legs and back. I did have my annual checkup at the doctor in the morning, and my blood pressure was great, now waiting for bloodwork results.
And since I am trying to be a good grown up, I also scheduled my car inspection for 1 pm today. I am very proud of myself, because it is due this month. Yes, I realize I only have a few days left in this month. But I am not too late yet.
So far, I have had a tremendous amount of joy and happiness being on the Shooting Star and Phoenix team this Fall. Never ever underestimate what a little encouragement can do for a person. My team mates are absolutely wonderful, and I feel like we can achieve anything. It is nice to know that everyone tries really hard to contribute and get us all marching to Ireland. :)
