Fall already!

Saturday, October 03, 2015

How did it get here already? I say this every year. However, there are ways that this year is decidely different from the past over 20 years. For one, I am leaving in a new home, new to me at least. It is somewhat in the woods and while there are leaves the yard area is much smaller than the previous house so my leaf raking will be minimal from before. Yay!
This house is much larger so I can get cabin fever in more rooms than before emoticon . There are quite a few more stairs so this alone will counteract the whole not having to rake thing.
This fall I am a grandmother! Still wrapping my head around that one in spite of having so many friends who are as well. I am thrilled but wish the little one was a bit closer. Still 2 hours away isn't bad these days.

Now, I have been a huge slacker in the "taking good care of myself" area of my life so I am very happy to be back in the Fall Challenge. Loving my Shooting Stars team although I miss my friends from the Cloverleaf team. Time to be a healthy Nana:)
Also, I need to be strong to deal with my parents at this point in their lives. It has been very stressful this year and there will be more to come but being at a good place with my health will help.
Off to continue to settle my new "nest"!

I love this time of year... but dread what comes after. (Cabin fever indeed!) Love that you are putting your health first and being a "healthy nana!" You are lucky to have just a 2 hour distance... these days it's too rare. We live close to both parents (intentionally moved closer when we had kids), though mine are now snowbirds - good for them!... grandparents are a blessing! Hope you have a great week. emoticon

The new nest sounds nice, especially less leaves. I have tons and am not a fan.

I have been through the problem with aging parents and continue to deal with it with one. Caregivers need to be healthy and strong.

I'm so happy that you are a Shooting Star! emoticon

I'm in a new home also. I've been here 18 months and now it feels like forever. I have a lot of leaves, but the lawn folks take care of that ... thank goodness! I'm not good at raking in a timely fashion.

Dealing with aging parents' issues certainly can be taxing! Remember to take time for yourself. You cannot help them if you are not able to give them what you are not giving your own self.
