Sweet temptations

The kid decorated a gingerbread cookie house this weekend - and guess who has been helping demolish it? Fortunately everyone in the house has been taking pieces. I will be glad when it's all gone. Spicy cookies are just so hard for me to resist!

I'm feeling halfway to normal today, thanks very much for the kind thoughts here. My in-laws leave on Wednesday - what a short but happy visit it's been! Only two more dinners together, and my MIL has asked to cook the last one. Tonight we will grab a quick dinner at Chipotle after the kid's soccer game. I don't think we've ever taken them there before, and the Mexican-ish flavors are also something rare in their home country so we think they'll like it.

I'm glad you're feeling better and have an appetite. It's good to have an appetite, right, even if it's for gingerbread houses?

Actually, ginger cookies are my children's favorites, too, so I made those a lot when the children were small. We would invite their Japanese friends over to help decorate the cookies, and that was always a lot of fun. I think it's a relatively healthy cookie--at least it's much lower fat than the other ones I used to make, like chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter cookies.

How wonderful that your in-laws get to enjoy a slightly Mexican taste! I can't find Mexican very often here either, and it is so tasty! I miss it! Have fun with your in-laws, and I know you'll enjoy having your sweet MIL cook dinner for you!

My husband loves Chipotle! It's his favorite. I always get in trouble there, cause I can resist the cheese, sour cream and guacamole. emoticon Glad you're feeling better!
