Life Gets in the Way

Ugh. I have been so bad. It isn't on purpose. It's just that I have been very busy. The first thing is, my boyfriend has been super sick and he doesn't have health insurance. We just can't afford it. We tried the free clinic, but he is a few dollars over the income limit. I was giving him zinc, and vitamin C, as well as making him immunity boosting tea with real honey, but he just wasn't getting better. I believe he had either a sinus, or an upper respiratory infection, and I knew he needed antibiotics. His supervisor, had recently had walking pnemonia, and was afraid Bryan had it too, so they told him that if he wasn't getting better soon, they would start sending him home, and wouldn't let him work until he saw a doctor. So I had to do something. Luckily, I can be very resourceful, and I was able to determine which antibiotics would normally be prescribed by a doctor for a sinus/respiratory infection, and then I found a way to get some. It wasn't easy, but I am good at finding little tricks in situations like this. I was concerned about treating him without a doctor, but if I didn't get him medicine, he would have landed himself in the ER. He started the medicine Sunday, and he is already starting to get much better.
The other problem I am facing, is the issue of our cars. His car is temporarily out of commission, so I am currently driving everyone to everything they need. If it was just that, I wouldn't be so worried, but my car was just in the shop, and the mechanic strongly urged me to invest in a new vehicle, ASAP. Easier said than done. Once again, I began to research, and make calls, and see what I could come up with. I think I finally have a plan of action now, but I'm not sure how easy it will be. I know my boyfriend isn't happy with the idea of me buying a car for $2,000 or less, but it's the best I can do right now, and he needs to put his money toward his own vehicle. It probably sounds like I'm making excuses, and maybe I am, but these things need to be taken care of. I am just happy I'm getting things done. Taking care of my weight is important, but sometimes life happens, and I just have to focus on making sure we all have basic neccessities. I've spent WI winters with no vehicle, and it is not good. There are no busses here, and the taxi service is very limited. You can't even grocery shop, because you're only allowed 2 bags in the cab. These are only minor setbacks. I will keep trying, and hopefully get back on track. I just can't give up.
